Kasta is my second fursona. She's a saber cat (I was feeling technical at the time, thus I used the more taxonomically correct "saber cat" over the more common "saber toothed tiger") and was inspired by my childhood love of the movie Ice Age and lowkey crush on Diego. I think of her as representation of my inner child, full of joy and excited about life, with, bonus, very big claws and teeth should she ever need them.

Original Description

Meet Kasta! She is my first proper attempt at a fursona. Kasta is a saber cat, which is a nod to my favorite movie, Ice Age. She's neon pink and lime green and bright blue because I am, at heart, a glitter, rainbow, and Lisa Frank loving hooman who believes my fursona is the last person who should be a serious adult^TM.

Reflection

I commissioned Kasta around August 2018. When I wrote "proper attempt" I meant "intentionally planned for." In hindsight, "Kaw-sta" would have been a much clearer pronounciation guide. All that said, I love her. She is a precious cinnamonroll, and I'm glad that I created her. I remember being a little anxious, writing that description, trying to explain (really to myself) why I, a no longer teen or even "young adult," had chosen a neon sparkledogcat as a fursona. I'm glad I went for it and created the fursona I really wanted, and that I've kept her for, wow, 8 years now. One of the things I love about fursonas and OCs are the paths for creative self-expression and representation they provide.

Reflection

I commissioned these stickers at the same time as the reference sheet, and I'm so glad I did. I still adore them and the different expressions make Kasta feel alive. I enjoyed them so much that I commissioned another set of stickers around March 2021.

Another fantastic set of stickers. I was never particularly active on Telegram and no longer have an account. I have used both sets of stickers primarily as printables I glue into my journals - they're a great way to enjoy my art offline.

Original Description

Sanctimony drew this awesome bust of Kasta as a human! I wanted a human version for art where a neon anthro saber cat didn't quite fit, and I love how she turned out.

Reflection

I commissioned this human version of Kasta at the same time as the second sticker sheet. I was hoping that having a possibly easier to fit into scenes version of Kasta (essentially a "regular" catgirl vs. a full anthropomorphic neon saber cat) would encourage me to come up with more ideas for her. That hasn't happened yet, but the century is still young.

Original Description

I really enjoy this fun piece featuring Jayla’s cell phone. Kasta winks up at her from the lock screen and a little Mirielle plush dangles from the lanyard.

Reflection

I purchased this piece in August 2023. It was a YCH, a "your character here" where an artist sketches out an image/scene and purchasers can have the details filled in with their character(s). Mirielle, the roe deer, was a character I briefly owned. I still really like the concept of this piece, with Kasta smiling up from Jayla's lockscreen. Eventually I'll commission some art with both of them actually together.
