Awesome Resources
This is a list of several helpful resources I used creating this website.
My workflow: I code this site in Geany, use Python’s built-in web server to preview everything in my browser, and upload the files to Neocities when they're ready.
Matthew James Taylor's "Holy Grail" 3-Column Responsive Layout provided the framework for my site. I heard about his site from Lost Letters.
32-Bit Cafe's massive, awesome resources list was where I found several other things I used, such as my background.
Google Webfonts Helper helpd me download and self-host my fonts, so visitors aren't routed through Google in order to load remote fonts. The idea came from 32-Bit Cafe's tutorial on de-Googling your website.
W3 Schools, a super handy guide to all things websites.
Taylor's Tiny Backgrounds is the source of my cute wallpaper.
Bonnibel's Graphic Collection is the source of the pixel art on my site. Her 2024 Update is worth a read. If you happen to know where my graphics came from, let me know!
I recently discovered the The Wonders of Web Weaving podcast and thoroughly enjoy listening to the discussions with people who are passionate about the small/indie/personal web. I recommend giving it a listen.
88x31 buttons on my website are from my buttons world and Dokedemo
My favicon is thanks to css-tricks.com.
I used sorbier's An Atom Feed From Scratch guide as a starting point for my own feed.
